KELECHI IHEANACHO has told Leicester City that he is willing to sign a new long-term contract in the summer.
Following his recent outstanding form, the 24-year-old Nigerian international enters the final year of his current five-year £60,000-a-week contract, and the Foxes want to lock down their in-form striker on a lucrative new deal.
Iheanacho who has been on fire recently, having scored seven goals in his last four games, including a vital double against Manchester United that secured a place in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton at Wembley.
According to SunSport, the forward who has been directly involved in 15 goals in 15 starts this season, has no desire to leave Leicester and is committed to the club for the long term as he seeks to oust Jamie Vardy.
Iheanacho currently earns £60,000 a week, but as Vardy’s long-term replacement, he could earn up to £90,000 in this new contract.
